Settings

 

Setting One:

 

The first setting that will be shown in the opening of my film will be Holly's local secondary school, Longsands Academy. I have decided to use this setting as my main location for the opening of the film. I have chosen this location because it is associated with most teen angst films. In my research of watching the opening of several different teen angst film, I noticed that the main location of where the opening is filmed is in a school setting. I think this is used because it can have several different story lines, it can relate to relationships, bullying, friendships and teachers. I have used this location so that I could show the different social groups in a school setting and how this can effect an individuals out look on life.

 

 


   I will film a section of the two main characters in a class room, the classroom will be a medium sized room. It will have two chairs per table, there will be several tables in the room. This will create the setting of a secondary school classroom. There will also be props such as school books, pencils and pens.








Setting Two:

The second setting I am going to film in, in the opening of my film will be my house. My house is situated in the middle of St Neots, it is easy access and  my parents agreed to filming being taken in place in our home. I have also chosen this setting because we need an easy accessible house to be able to film a house party in.

I will film a section in my bedroom the two main characters getting ready. The bedrooms will be set out like your stereotypical teenage girls bedroom. This will include, make up, hair straighteners, a mirror, hair brushes etc. This will allow the audience to identify where the location is.

In my house we will also use the kitchen. The kitchen is where the party is going to be filmed. We will use lots of high lighting, that will flash like a strobe on lots of alcohol bottles. The reason for using the kitchen is because it is a very special room that can capture a party atmosphere.

And finally the last location I will use in my house will be the hallway, this is situated by the front door. This will be used for when my parents leave the house and for when they walk back in and bust the party.
